I've been listing and selling on another site that uses social media.  I think it is worth sharing with you.....

eBay launched a new version of ProStores (10.3) that includes a number of social networking features, including the ability to add Facebook Like buttons to stores.

Merchants can also add Facebook Share buttons and Tweet buttons on their web stores. When customers click on the Tweet and Share widgets on a product page, the product is posted on their Facebook profile and Twitter feed, allowing friends and

followers to view it.

Thank you =0)

All I'm trying to do in my life is sending sunshine to people. Unfortunately, not all people are ready for it.

Anyway, we offer layaway on all items. Take a look, window shopping is OK, too - http://www.shop.rubylight777

John,

Great post!  I've been following your blog for years and find it super informative.  A passion for your subject and in depth knowledge makes it one of the best!

John-

Great post! i can't stress enough the importance of blogging as an audience (traffic) builder. As antique experts, this community has SO MUCH to offer, blogging is the easiest way to do it.

Re Wordpress vs. Blogger vs..., yes, Wordpress enjoys a slight advantage: More plug-ins, support community, products like WP Remix that enable full sites (not just blogs) built on Wordpress...  That said, Blogger is an excellent platform, as are many others. it all depends on what (you) are most comfortable with.

For those seeking the absolute, most simple, zero learning curve check out Posterous.com. Using Posterous (free) you simply take a picture with your phone, attach it to an email and ... presto, your email is your post. It even builds photo galleries for you if you attach more than one picture to a single email. Handles video the same way (so, if you writing a post about repairs and want to include a video...)

Do consider making blogging part of your online presence--particularly in a community of shared expertise like this one, it's a solid "best practice."

John, thank you very much for this excellent comment. My  persoanl blog (Kitsch n Stuff)  is on Blogger. My thoughts were that since Google owned them, I would get preferential treatment with SEO. I have been very pleased with how  things are going on Google. But, from what you are saying, you found more success with Wordpress. Can you respond further, what would be an example of things you can fine tune on Wordpress that you are limited on Blogger?

And is is hard to switch over?

LOL!:) THAT was the reason I never pursued word press anymore than I did:) My blog on blogger was just sooo easy to put together, learn from what I have done with it, learn from others, and much smoother to deal with.

I keep going to word press once in a great while to slowly keep working with it, and teaching myself things as I am a self learner of things. I am slowly getting around, but just got sooo use to how it is simpler with blogger:)
