The Sugar Chest Mall in Pampano Beach - on Federal Highway (US 1) and The Hillsboro Mall are decent.  Pyewacket's in Sarasota is the best new mall on the west coast.

Well we woke up to a lot of snow.  It's one of those days that you wish you were antiquing in Florida!

We, too, winter in SW Florida (5 months) and spend our remaining 7 months in/around Kansas City.  We try to vary our driving trips to/from Florida by taking alternate routes.  We would love to hear of your pleasant experiences along your way.

While in Florida, we, too, love to go to Mt. Dora at least once while we're down South.  A list of some of our favorite antique malls and their locations will follow.

Happy hunting.

Many Canadians live part of the winter in Florida and I have heard that there are many flea markets and antique shops.  There is also the big Miami Antique Show.  It sounds like a wonderful trip, travelling from the cold North down to sunny Florida, and visiting all kinds of historic and interesting places along the way.  I have a friend who goes to Mount Dora every winter.  I once knew an antique dealer from here in Toronto who spent summers up north of Toronto in cottage country and sold at the antique market that used to be in Toronto, and then spend winters in Florida "antiquing" and selling there too.  It sounds like she had the best of both worlds and could search for antiques all year round, which was her favourite hobby.  I would love to find out more about it and one of these winters I will take the scenic route down to Florida!
