12" c. 1926 Oscillating Rewired Westinghouse Desk Fan

This antique table fan is wonderful for anyone who likes pieces of true Americana. It's industrial "all-black" design is great for any area of your home, and makes for cool decor. People won't be able to walk by without having to stop and ask you where you got it, how old is it, and tell you how cool it is. It reminds you of the day when gears and metal pushed air, instead of foreign manufactured motors and plastic that break within a year of buying. This fan has lasted over 85+ years and still runs like a top.

LaLa's Old Beginnings on Facebook

~1851 Phillip Neu & Peter Gintz founded one of the first breweries in Illinois, based in Belleville, Illinois. The brewery produced only about 2,000 barrels of beer annually, most of which was sold in the Belleville and East St. Louis areas
~ 1873 The Western Brewery & purchased the brewery growing production to 20,000 barrels
~ 1895 The Western Brewery was producing 40,000 barrels of beer annually. Led by Stag’s predecessor, “Kaiser” which was originally called as a nod to the rich brewing culture of German-American immigrants in the 1800's
~ 1907 the Kaiser name had fallen out of popularity & Western Brewery held a contest to rename their flagship beer. $25 in gold was awarded to George E. Wuller of Belleville for the winning name.... Stag Beer
~ 1919 SAD DAYS were ahead.... The Western Brewery was forced to close during Prohibition
~ 1933 The Griesedieck family purchased the brewery after the repeal of Prohibition, propelling Stag into a period of rapid growth

LaLa's Old Beginnings on Facebook

James Dougherty was the 1st of Monroe's 3 husbands.
Over the decades, he was repeatedly asked by reporters & biographers about his 4 year marriage to the legendary star...... "I never knew Marilyn Monroe, and I don't claim to have any insights to her to this day," he told United Press International in 1990. "I knew and loved Norma Jean."
James Dougherty a former Van Nuys High School football captain & class president, was 20 & working the night shift at Lockheed Aircraft when he began dating his 15-year-old neighbor Norma Jean Baker in January. Soon after in 1942, James was 21 years old & married 16 year old Norma Jean Baker. He joined the Merchant Marines, was sent to the South Pacific in 1944, returned to Los Angeles in 1946. Soon after he & Baker divorced.

Norma Jean Baker posed for Earl Moran in the 1940's & the two became friends. She always credited him with making her legs look better than they were as she felt they were too thin. Moran's work during this time period is now his most valuable
