Up for sale is an unusual item from the American

Art Deco Era. It is a vintage picnic basket fully fitted, case,

This PRIMITIVE RUSTIC Trunk  PICNIC BASKET

is made in the form of a suitcase and I believe it to be BLACK LEATHER.
The interior is lined with a checkered gingham type fabric with leather belts and straps to hold the dishes and utensils.

Inside are:
Three plates
SET OF SHEFFIELD Silver Plated utensils,
6 TEA Spoons, 6 KNIVES 5 FORKS (ONE ALAS IS MISSING)
2 SALT & PEPPER SHAKERS
A Pickle Jar and an old  EVEREADY Flashlight!!

The 4 cups are enamel ware and marked Sweden.

The suitcase basket or trunk closes with a center lock and two flip locks on either side and a leather handle

This beautiful Great Gatsby type item is a wonderful reminder

of the days after World War One, when gracious

living was important and things were made to last.

Size: 21" x 12 1/4" x 8" (high)

Weight: 12 1/2" pounds (unpacked)
BEING SOLD AS IS VERY OLD AND NEEDS A GOOD CLEANING LEFT TO THE NEW OWNER
FROM AN ESTATE IN THE THOUSAND ISLANDS NYC
