NOTES FROM THE SCHMOOZE PATROL

Welcome to the only group on this site where you can talk about everything and the kitsch n sink. You are now in the NEWS and SCHMOOZE Zone.

Members get to decide what they want to talk about.  This is the right place for announcements, news, bragging,  friend stuff, sharing and caring and whatever else you want to talk about.

If you need help on how to understand this site...please go to the HELP Group (see top of your page).  If you need help with the identification and evaluation of an item you found, inherited, bought please use the Whadja Find Group.

As the NEAT FREAK, I will try hard to keep this group as NEWS and SCHMOOZE. I ask members to help me keep the group tidy. If you see a post that belongs in Whadja Find or somewhere else, please politely tell the poster they are in the wrong  place and guide them to the best place to post. Anyone want to help me keep this group neat and organized? I sure could use some helpers(s) Please email me at Dianne@cdiannezweig.com

Liz Bryman: Do you have an Office for the Aging in your county or some other advocacy group in your county? Are you a member of AARP? Reach out to an organization for assistance.

I love the idea of talking about what we collect. I'm sure we all have very different collections. It could be a very fun and informative discussion.

I agree with unanimous re no politics. Better stay friendly no matter what fence you choose to be in front or behind. So let's start something new: Personally something totally unthinkable happened to me today. I went to see my GP, i.e. General Practioner (i.e. DOC!) re a right ear bothering me, keeping me from sleeping, itching and throbbing. I had seen an ENT doc about it a year ago and was "cured" of a fungal infection then but it appears to have come back. Because of insurance restrictions I need a GP to issue a referral before I can see my ENT doc. Guess what? The GP on duty today REFUSED me a referral! This has never happened to me before. I couldn't believe it. A 50-mile roundtrip (2 visits, Friday when I had to walk out after 2 hrs no one seeing me) and Monday, 1/2 hr wait approx. (I stuck with it) and this new (to me) physician claims I "don't need a specialist" so NO REFERRAL! I was so angry I almost speeded more than usual on the drive home. I have all kinds of comebacks in mind, none of them doing ME any good in the end. So I ask you all: WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

Before you say any of these, let me pre-empt you: 1. Change doctor. A. Oh yes, would love to. CAN'T. It's the only doc in my county that accepts MY insurance plan! 2. Go on straight Medicare (I am on SS). Sure, would love to but Medicare and THIS insurance doesn't allow jumping off after having signed back up last December. Yes, the insurance co name starts with H. No names, please! AGAIN: WHAT WOULD *YOU* DO? I'm 74 and out of options as is my hubby, 79. DO SUGGEST SOMETHING?

Thank you for the heads-up!

Oh and I vote (no pun intended) for no politics.  I need a break from it.

Diane - your question about the significance of mulch season to antique stores?  Is it that spring and the mulch season brings about more trips that include visits to antique stores?  It does for me anyway.
