The newest exhibit at the Ratcliffe Transportation Museum is an HO scale layout built using trains, track and scenery components donated to the museum by several contributors. This is a “hands-on” layout that can be operated by anyone 8 years of age or older. One just needs to read the operating rules and directions, and have fun.
But the town in our layout is pretty empty, with only a few buildings and industries. Like any town, we need places for our people to live, shop and work.
So we are holding a contest — build an HO scale building or scene, write your name and phone number on the inside, and bring it to the museum by Jan. 10, 2016. We will pick the best models and add them to the layout for everyone to see.
The Raymond F. Ratcliffe Transportation Museum is located at 51 Commerce St. in Pulaski. Regular hours are Tuesdays 2 to 8 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays 1 to 5 p.m., or by appointment. For more information, call 980-2307
