Hello all. We're new to I Antique and new to this group as a result. Because we are new, I didn't know whether a Comment is the best way to let you all know that, or what? Please let me know if "comment" is not the best place to tell you about our Estate auctions which run the first and third Monday of each month. We have a great Estate Auction in Crystal River, FL on Monday, Sept 21 at 7pm. Preview starts at noon. You can visit our website for more info, which includes youtube videos of the items up for auction. All items are directly from Florida estates and are VERY CLEAN. If you need furniture, we have enough to fill SEVERAL homes. Much more as well, including some antiques mingled in here and there. Check us out!

Hi friends, hope everyone has been finding lots of great bargains, I know I have! On June 5th and 6th my husband and I travelled from our home in OK to Kansas City for our 30th anniversary. We went to Gladstone, part of KC, because each year on that weekend they have a free blues festival and CITY WIDE GARAGE SALES! We saled all day and enjoyed wonderful music in the evening. And since Kansas City was one of the stops on our honeymoon, it was a fitting location to spend another milestone anniversary. Thank you City of Gladstone for hosting a fine family oriented festival and the people of Gladstone for welcoming us to their homes, or at least their garages!

I'm sure by now everyone is happily hitting the weekend sales, as I have been. My time is limited, because I work on Frday and Saturday, so usually hit as many as possible on lunch break. Have come across some exciting items, too. Took my 87 year old Mom garaging last Thursday, she had a lot of fun. Thursday sales are good for her, not so many, just enough to keep us out a couple hours. 5 or 6 times of getting in/out of car is about enough. Happy saling, and I'll be out Saturday, 11-noon!

Let people know that you want their business by making business cards and handing them out to prospective people in your neighborhood.
Wet their desire to own some of the great item that you will feature in your sell by indicating the catagories that your sell will cover.

Always tell them to showup even if you don't have what they may immediately desire. Tell them that you would like for them to give you a wantlist.

Spring is starting to spring here, have seen a couple brave souls putting out signs, went to a sale today. Reminder that I need to get my pile of stuff ready for a sale. After spending all last summer clearing mom's house and ending with garage sale for her in the fall, I REALLY don't want to do it, but I must. Look forward to meeting everyone here.

I love yard sales. I like to see items that have been cleaned up a little. Some yard sales have items with mold, dirt, who knows what - no thanks. Also, opinions differ, but I like items to be priced so I'm not asked, "How much is this?" every few minutes.

Dianne, you make alots of sense. I have so many items that I hope to photograph and prepare for the spring.
Best thing about have a large inventory is the fact that you have a chance to go through them at a later time and even then it seem like you are rediscovering items that you had forgotten that you owned.
I'm always open for learn thing and it seems that you have had alot of experience in field of antiques and their proper application.
I can not thank you enough for all of you valuable and uplifting post.
