Pink and Turquoise Kitchen Collectibles were popular during the 1950's. Plastics were very "in" and kitchen accessories matched refrigerators, stoves and small appliances. Pink and aqua kitchen collectibles move slower than the primary colors (red, yellow, blue). I find more interest for these colors in metropolitan areas or in warmer climates.Of course "retro" and "cottage" enthusiasts like the pastel colors of the fifties.

It seems like I am doing very well selling aqua to younger women in their 20's and 30's. They say you are drawn to what grandma had. It just so happens my grandmother was obsessed with proving that the depression didn't get her. So she was always buying the latest things. Consequently, I love way too many styles, colors and things.

Pam...can yu send some of those pink and turquoise buyers to my shop... Connecticut is not a pink and turquoise state....my tableclothes in these colors are growqing moss!

Oooh my fave personally for me is Red, but that is because I live in an old farm house.

Hi Carriers..I had a similar breadbox...mint...still in the original box...with a matching cake saver.......I really wanted to keep it for myself.......but is just didn't go with the kitchen at the time...now Im sorry I didn't save it ...it sold and at a good price (for Connecticut) ...Dianne

Oh gee Dianne I hope I am not going to regret selling this one. LOL

The top is the only part that shows some wear, and the inside too which is natural. Right now, I am all about red gingham and red & white enamel when possible for my old farm house kitchen.

Of course the way things are going these days , sales wise, I just might have this breadbox around for a long time.
