Found these today. I love 'em! All in excellent, near mint condition. This has got to count as kitsch.

Also this adorable rooster thing. I have no idea what it is, it's about 7" across, 1" deep, has a hole on back for hanging, and it opens up. Any guesses?

Thanks Barbara, I didn't think of that. He sure is a jaunty guy - I think I'll just hang him on the wall for now. I can flatten my own burgers.

I'm not positive but it looks like a tortilla press. My mother had one like this yrs. ago.

Love Briard and the cannisters are a real score. They look to be in excellent condition!

The canisters were a great find. Never been used as far as I can tell - perfectly shiny inside and out. I'm going to keep them, I think. I have more Briard (glassware) but I wouldn't have thought to find a set like this. I'm thrilled!

And the press thing, well I believe it is a hamburger press, but really you could press anything I suppose. I actually think it would be good for the little corn tortillas. And being wood, well dough is a bit less messy then meat. At any rate, I'm going to hang it on the wall. It'll match my other kitschy roosters nicely. He reminds me of the Kellogg's Corn Flakes rooster - or Foghorn Leghorn from cartoons.

Thanks! I've been missing from here for awhile - we've been traveling -- but since posting this I've found several other pieces in this pattern. I'm crazy about them and when we get settled again I'll post more pics.
