@vintagerecycling I was junkin' for treasures one night in Sayreville, NJ about 15 years ago. A group of young people went by in a car, and they all started catcalling and yelling, "TRASH PICKER"! I yelled back, "DAMN STRAIGHT"!!! lol!
That night, I found a vintage coffee percolator, with the cord, in great condition, it only needed some steel wool to bring back it's shine. It's a Mirro brand percolator, a lovely piece, and it brews great coffee. I saw the same thing in an antique store later that year, with a $35.00 price tag on it. I love mine, and it was FREE!!! :D :D :D

My dad used to sift through the garbage bins in the Wall Street building where his Coffee Shop was located. He would find old documents and lots of great stuff. I didn't get it then...(as a child). Now I get it.

Hello everyone! My name is Christy, and I am a "junkaholic".
It all began when I was a child, perhaps around 8 years of age.
Dad and I would take walks around the neighborhood and find
cool stuff to bring home to Mother, stuff like a book with the cover
torn off, hey, it was still readable. lol!
I have furnished my apartments over the years with beautiful old
furniture that needed a little TLC and some Old English to bring
it back to glory. I love "trashing for treasures", and I admit,
Yes, I am a junkaholic! :D

Actually just got back from a two week trip to Israel. Was THRILLED that I was led to a thrift shop there! Ok so I scored 3 outfits for 10 shekels. Which is like 2.25 in USD. LOL! I was sooo happy! Even my 10 year old scored!
