Since I bought my building in 1996, I have trying to get my "junk" out of my back room in order to get extra space for my shop. Tbe floor is in serous jeopardy of -- well falling - for lack of a better word -- besides collapsing - into underground oblivion. I have been waiting for my husband to "fix" said floor - hahahah! I guess the cows will come home first (even though we have no cows).
Comment by Antiques in Bethania on July 29, 2011 at 8:44pm To all members of I antique on Line - this is a great place, but what even makes it greater is being able to "see" you --- and by seeing you, this does not mean your actually self but an identity or pseudo image if you will, that could be anything you want to be (within reason). I have many different Avatars - or images - but here I like using a photo of my brick and mortar store. I also like using my puppies - one such photo is of my Yorkie Zoie with her five puppies beneath her, and one pup in particular named Mackie who at the same time I snapped the picture, rolled on his back. This is definitely a Kodak moment. However; you do not have to be camera proficient and can even choose clip art or anything free from the Internet.
We want you to have an enjoyable time here, and to stay a while. which means we would like to "see you" !!!!
Comment by Sumaya on May 12, 2011 at 12:21pm The idea is to sell it all :) but what I found helpful is to sort your finds by type, glass, linens so on and os forth, using those skinny metal shelves that are narrow and high (6 ' at least) in a spare room or garage if you have one date the find of each piece. Then after 2 months I go back and re evalute each item to keep, sell (on line or show), auction, donate, finally trash.
It is easy for me because I donot collect anything :)
Been selling for over 17 years and still looking for better ways to store things. Hope this will help a little
:)
if you putting it on the floor, get some shelves and use that upper space you can some times get 3-4-5 times the stuff in the same floor space.
or sell some of it
