I Antique Online

A Community For People Who Buy, Sell or Collect Antiques, Collectibles and Art

Greg(Swims) has been collecting Japanese antiques for about 20 years now & he is interested in many different fields. Main interest is in Sagemono type objects, such as Netsuke, Inro, pipecases & tobacco pouches, lacquerware, & cloisonne pieces. Also collected are metalware such as boxes & cigarette cases enlayed with 24k gold and silver designs. Boxes are also a topic of interest and several types are in my collection! Anybody who has similar tastes is welcome to join in with comments & information to share with others who might find this collecting area of interest! Thanks for reading! Cheers! Swims

I too collect new Boxwood Netsukes. They sell very well--they are of new interest to buyers. The workmanship in these pieces are exactly how they made them in the past. I don't buy Ivory for Conservation reasons. But they also come in Ivory and Nutshell. I haven't come across Japanese Tobacco items yet-- but I do have an interest in Tobacco collectibles.
