Meet Your Moderators Dianne and Scott

What is more fun than traveling around the country antiquing. It's great to spend "quality" time with IAO members online, but it is even better....meeting friends of the site in person. This group will be a place to share your antiquing road trips and the photos you bring back of people, places and events of interest to members.

We especially hope that you will tell everyone about Iantiqueonline.com and bring along our newly printed promo pads. (To receive free promo pads see post below in "Discussion Forum"). .

This is our traveling rig! We love to visit antique shows and camp in our vintage rig. The truck is a 1955 Dodge panel truck with a late model Hemi, and the 12 foot trailer is a Zolinger Va-Ca-Shun-Ette (pronounced vacation-ette). Complete with chrome lighting, bakelite handles, ice box, and boomerang countertops this is vintage living at its best! Our favorite show is the Grand Rapids Antiques Market, be sure to stop by and say hello.

Great finds, Tom. Don't know much about hood ornaments but Chrysler keeps sticking in my mind. Found one site that might help:

Ohhh, I love road trips. Hubby and I used to be gone 3-4 months at a time years ago. Hillsville, VA is a great stop Memorial Weekend and Labor Day weekend. The whole town is one big antique and flea market.

Anyone going to the Hwy 127 World's Largest Yard Sale August 6-9? It runs from Ohio to Alabama.

My husband and I have been out and about for the last month already and think we'll be out another month or so. Right now we're in a hotel at Lake Okoboji, IA, a favorite for us. Lots of antiques here! We're headed to Minnesota, South Dakota, and then ? We had a great time going through Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri, some of Illinois - we stayed off the beaten path and hit some small sales and shops - talked to some interesting characters. We've been back by the house and the storage units and dropped off goodies and furniture, grabbed the mail and jumped back into the car! I've been shopping everything from antiques malls to yard sales to thrift stores. When I have a proper computer and some sit-down time I'll post pictures. Too hard to do from this little laptop. I think I wrote here somewhere about the store that sells the Fiestaware factory seconds. Granted, I had to inspect each piece carefully, but it was worth it! And the glassware I've picked up along with the odd furniture pieces and of course some electrical gadgets and paper goods. You just never know what you'll find out on the road.
Internet service has been spotty, so I'm not able to keep up with everyone. But all too soon we'll be home again, so I'm enjoying it now.

I trip every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I always end up at McDonald's for an egg mc muffin and a cup of coffee. I then head home and take a nap...I did pretty good this weekend; got 4 pcs of elegant depression glass, serving pcs, for $15. and 2 Heisey Custards for 50 cents. I bought a bunch of Wade-England, Rose Tea animals for too much, but oh well I collect them. At one sale a lady surprised me with, "I knew you'd be coming so I saved a piece of carnival glass for you". Unfortunately it was repro, not worth the $15. she had on it. I suggested $5, and she put it on the table. It was still there when I left. She said she had another sale coming up soon with lots of depression and carnival glass and asked me for my business card, which I gladly gave her.
