About Your Moderator Ellene Meece

Ellene Meece is an antique/collectible marketer and organizer of people, products and possibilities in this vast world of Collectible Treasures. Her story involves being educated in antiques and collectibles through her mother who owned and operated a large antique and collectible store in Yukon, Oklahoma on Route 66 and then inheriting her inventory of endless antiques and collectibles after her unexpected passing. Ellene was determined to find a positive path forward to share these treasures with others and thus built an online business in 2007 through her website www.grandmastreasuresonline.com where today, hundreds of collectibles have been added continually.

Indiana Illustrators like Wehr depict Halloween from the 1940's and 50's...

Join discussion: Art Tells a "Holiday" Story.

This piece of art by Alan Foster gives us a glimpse into "school days" in the autumn season. Titled: I Was Tardy. Sept 1950.

This cover of the Saturday Evening Post in 1954, is a perfect example of how art tells a "holiday" story. This one by Stevan Dohanos is titled: Labor Day Picnic.

Well...the summer season is winding down! Any SUMMER Collectibles to share before we start seeing frost on the pumpkin?

Thinking about Christmas, Deanna? ;) When my mom was living, she would leave up a Christmas Tree year round in the sun room and decorate it seasonally - like Americana in July and green St Patrick's in March, etc. One year in August, my brother covered it in those plastic icicles and explained it was "sweat." haha

This little caroller is adorable by the way!!
