Good morning! I found this waterless paper snow globe style music box at a thrift store. It's stamped Japan on the bottom. I'm guessing it's 40's era. I've looked for other examples of this and I'm striking out. Also, does anyone have info on the little German looking cardboard Christmas buildings I see popping up at estate sales? I'm well versed in midcentury housewares, but the 40's are not part of my knowledge base. Is there a name for that style of decoration? Thanks!

I guess with the rick-rack around the bottom, I immediately think 50's-60's. Here's one on Etsy. Listed for $75!

You are probably right Ellene! Good observation! I guess my .75 purchase was more than fair! Seriously, antiquing never ceases to amaze me!
