Vintage Touch

I have periodically asked about the issues you pointed out. Perhaps I'll get a new answer this round.

Well here goes Diane & I hope others that have concerns about the deficiencies of ning with mobile device users, will also add anything else they notice to the list. Here are the things I notice when trying to view my page with my iPad. These problems also occur throughout the site in the groups, home page etc.

1. Cannot view photo slide show - blank space
2. Cannot view embedded widgets - blank space
3. When I access my page it shows my page profile information in TEXT ONLY - I have to select from the list under the little parallel bars, 'Desk Top View' in order to view photos.

Another quirk that happens when I view my page on my PC -on ning the individual photos in my embedded widget are NOT clickable - this is a problem on ning that does not happen on blogger and other places.

Can someone create a very clear problem list , numbered and titled with each quirky thing and I will contact NING for help.

Thanks
Dianne

I went to ning.com and it appears that the only ones that can contact them are ning network creators and administrators.  The site says that if you are a member of a ning network, to go to the bottom of the home page and click on 'report an issue' which takes you directly to the editors desk of the site so I don't know how to contact ning.  I would like for ning to respond to the mobile device problem that we the users are finding with their sites.  I also think this site is outstanding....that is why I'm concerned.

Perhaps you guys need to contact NING the platform this site is built on?

I think this site and its idea are outstanding. You have done a fantastic job to grow it this big-HUGE. IN my mind, the questions are how to keep it growing, vibrant, and the go to place. I hope to be part of the solution that drives IAOL ahead.

For instance ..... When I access my page through my iPad, I get profile information which is all text & requires me to click on desktop view to see page......then if you have a slide show of photos, that is NOT viewable on the iPad + widgets are NOT viewable. This is what concerns me about the interest in the site - more and more people use mobile devices.....if information is BLANK what do you think they will do?

So.... Is anyone besides me concerned about the fact that someone viewing pages on mobile devices have to do a bunch of maneuvering to even see photos here on IAO?

Your talking cars and you know the reputation a used car salesman have been given over the years. I know one Asian arts dealer handles online sales with prices listed if under 5k. Call or messave all other inquiries.. At least you have a ball park answer.
