Lillian, I would suggest that you use the Discussion post shown above as "+Add a Discussion".  In that way your paintings and comments and replies all stay together.  You have been posting in the Comment Wall and replies are getting lost or separated from the original post.

Could be a lighting difference or the quality of the camera. The photo doesn't do it justice.

Lillian, the painting by Dee Kirby on your link is beautiful! Looking at it, and then yours, indicates that yours is probably dirty.  If in a smoke-filled environment it will turn yellowish from the nicotene stains. Professionally cleaned your ptg will probably look as good as the  link and IMHO would be worth considerably more than $100.

Also your ptg has reflection in it from your flash. Turn it off and use natural light.

Another original oil painting. This one is by Dee Kirby who is well-known for painting Hawaiian landscapes:

The outer dimension of the wooden frame is 8.5" square. The back of the painting indicates it was originally sold fro $100. I know I probably couldn't get that back. What would be an expected value?

Here's how it looks after my attempts at matting and framing.

I don't know in what media this painting was done. The paint has texture, so I don't think it's watercolor and it looks too light to be oil - maybe light acrylic? It on Bainbridge board and measures 15 x 13". Can't quite make out the signature (Tregre?). Any idea who this is or whgat the value would be - I put it in a frame.
