Where to shop for jewels and antiques and beads in new orleans french quarter.

I get asked so much lately that I thought I should join this group and start a post. It will be ongoing as I explore my new turf more and more. I recently opened my own shop in the quarter and sell new, vintage and beads but there are a ton of other places that fascinate me too. Right now is my favorite collector David on Decatur street. He is in the 1300 block down the street from me and I just can't resist stopping in . I scored a wonderful rare florenza demi there not too long ago. I also stocked my french quarter kitchen from his vintage kitchen dept. David is knowledgable and actually reads and studies the things he collects and sells. He knows the finer points of his jewelry but his prices are totally within reason and not at all high. You can find everything from hundred year old mardi gras beads made of colored czech glass to eisenberg or sterling at Davids. Unlike most shops of his kind, collectibles stocked full of everything, David has trays of jewelry.. He keeps it by type. Ask him for rhinestone bracelets and the display is dazzling! Need pearls? He has several hundred pair at a time. All over the shop a joolie can find necklaces of all dates hanging in interesting places.

Well, enough for one post.Anyone who is interested just convo me and I will be glad to give you a guided tour.

hugs

P.

80 miles west of St. Louis MO, along the Missouri River is the town of Hermann, MO. My German ancestors were founding fathers in 1832. I visited there in 1990. The town is 95% German, with vintage German architecture. The street signs are in both German and English languages. Fluent German is spoken in the pubs. Next to the main bridge over the Missouri River is Heckman Park, named after my Great Grandfather who was the first "Steamboat Willy" and whose son was the famous "Steamboat Bill".

I agree about the Chrysler Building. In addition I think the main lobby of the Empire State Building is the height of Art Deco style.

I like the Chrysler Building in NYC with its Art Deco style. It amazes me.
The Egyptian Theater in Boise is also a great Art Deco structure.
