I remember sitting at the table with mom licking the stamps and putting them in a book. Clocks are such a wonderful part of life .
I remember my patents getting this clock with Green Stamps back in the mid-1960s. Anyone remember those? Each filled book represented $12 in purchases from the store that distributed the stamps. I think the clock cost 4 books of stamps. That corresponds to about $350 in today's value.

Wind Up Clock have a certain something to them .Batteries take away the old fashioned tic toc and chime and replace it with something less personal. I like some of the cases with battery operated clocks . I just love the history of wind ups
Comment by Brenda G. on March 29, 2012 at 1:09pm Lillian, The clock is beautiful, but a lot of people are like me, if it is any newer than 100 yrs. old, I don't want it. It is kind of silly to be that way and with most of the people, they don't care what age it is, if they like it. And that is very good.
There really no distinctive landmarks in my locale except maybe the Hudson River.
Lillian what is it near like a large land mark?
Wow, Charles, I know what you mean by unusually warm temps. If it's like this now, what will it be in July?
BTW, Stillwater, NY is 140 miles from Bethel, CT (280 mi round-trip).
Lillian how far are you from Connecticut ? I like the lamp shades
