Hi everyone.  If you have given thought to going on to formalize an appraisal practice, or add it to your current menu of services, this is something you really should consider.  Whether through ISA or ASA or another, there's no better time than now to build up credentials and certifications to add credibility to yourself and your business!

Good Morning,

The International Society of Appraisers has a series of 6 classes that will be offered this fall.  Information regarding these classes is attached.  We hope that you are able to share this with your readers.

Let me know if you need any additional information.

Best regards,

I have been conducting estate sales for 11 years now and yes, it IS a lot more work than most people think who never did them.  I think from some of the comments certain customers make, they think it is very easy. I usually invite them to work for us for a while and see what it entails.....of course they never accept :)  Congratulations on your successful sale Out of the Attic!

Out of the Attic, I have been dying of curiosity! So glad you did well.

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who answered all of my questions and helped me out - the sale went off without a hitch and  we made way more than we ever dreamed, it was fun to finally do a sale on my own, but way more work than just helping out others with theres... Thanx again to everyone!!

In Chicagoland, attendance is great and yes, I feel it is due to the economy and we DO see an upswing in sale of utilitarian items ......towels, clothing, cleaning supplies, pots/pans, etc.....unfortunately, they are the lower priced items, so we seem to have more leftovers now (decor, entertaining type items, etc). People still love the high end sales, as they do get great bargains, but we have so many brand new companies in this area (probably 200 or more) in the past two years, the sales are more "diluted" as to the quality of sales we get calls for....there are still plenty to go around for everyone though, we just have to pick and choose wisely.

At this point in time, I would love to ask all of you from different geographical regions how you feel your liquidations are going?  Do you find they are better attended than in the past due to the economy?  Do you feel that higher end items are not selling as well or lower end "utilitarian items" are selling, or do you think the answers lie within the region you are located?
