you collected stuff that made YOU happy, the kids are doing the same thing to make THEM happy or warm fuzzy memories of there child hood not yours
homes and life styles are much different today then 40 or so years ago
if the kids want some thing any thing of yours be happy, if not just get rid of it they might just take what ever from you to keep you happy and put it out in the shed to say they took it
This seems very sad but all so true
