Shameless Promotion.  I have several antique items for sale on ebay, 99 cent starting bids and no reserve.  I would love for this community to come visit my store. http://stores.ebay.com/chesleysvintage

Wow, c'mon down and sell my stuff for those prices and take a cut! I only have about 7000 items left.

Merry Christmas to you & all of us!

I think, closer to 90%. Sold mostly to one buyer. He bought every piece of 10-12-14 kt gold I had; probably for the gold content. 85-90% of Melt Value is better than I can get around here because they (dealers) take 35% commission!

Of course my yard sale mark-up is a different story!  I think it's about a 36 to 1 ratio. Paid $10. Made $360.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

PRAISE GOD.

So, sold for <20% of retail? Sounds about like today's antiques market....

Maybe my prices were too high, relisted 20 items at reduced prices, sold 16 of them...okay, helps.

Currently there are 3,800 listings on ebay for Chanel No. 5, so why in the heck did they take mine off?  They said (I called them) it could be counterfeit and since I am not a licensed reseller I can't sell my perfume on ebay!  I can see their point, but if they apply that to everything then nobody except licensed resellers will be able to sell.  That is a dumb way to operate eBay.  EBay says they prefer working with the reseller over the little guy because they have more business.

If eBay wants to grow they should change their policy to Buyer Beware.

@Tom - most likely it's cuz of the crapola "Search" - "Best Match" bs that caused you to have less than steller sales. I have really gone the other way away from them, with the brick and morter antique mall - I seem to do much better - unless I know I have an unusual, expensive item - then I may go to the trouble of ebay - otherwise its not worth the frustration. Just Mho.

If you peruse ebay's 'completed' listings in most categories, you'll find that they sell under 10-15$ of listed items and make their $$ on listing fees.

I have had good experience on eCrater.  My sales have been good.  This requires a lot of self promoting though.  There is no limit to the amount of items or time limit to how long they can be listed....it is all free. You are welcome to check my store to see the type of things I sell etc.  http://deannamoyers.ecrater.com

SLOW or NO SALES??? Just listed 28 diff items on ebay, sold 2. A lot of wasted time. Free listings though. My prices were about 1/5th of retail...don't understand.  Bummer.  Do they still say Bummer???
