I have this secretary desk that is antique, but I do not know when and where it is from. Any help would be appreciated
Hi Toni, I think your secretary was meant to resemble furniture from the "Baltic's" - Here is a Wiki page of info on where those places are located. But, usually Poland was also included in the group.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baltic_states
It would seem that it resembles "Folk Art" - hand made and decorated furniture from those areas, but I think it was made in the USA. I would guess early 1940's for a time line.
The label states ___ _____ America, so this suggests it is an American made piece, not from the Baltic. The language would also be different if it were, of course.
Hope that helps a bit?
Thanks very much. It is funny when I google Baltic Ensemble or FCA I don't find anything.I can't find another piece like it. Would you call the style folk art? Thanks
