One of mom's treasures - a green, 3-footed bowl in the stag and holly pattern. Some vintage glass advisors say you can tell if it's an old piece or a repro by looking at the head of the stag. I've looked a photos of both and can't tell. - the difference must be more subtle than my old eyes can discern. Can anyone help me here?

Hi Lillian, According to what I've read the original scrolled footed bowls should be: 9 1/2 inches in dia. The stag's eyes are almond shaped, and it has a tongue (so far so good, on yours). And, the holly leaves should have 24 berries - I can't tell from your pics.
If your bowl is 9 1/2, and your holly has 24 berries it should be considered authentic.
Also, because it is depression glass in green, it should also florese under black-light - does it?
Wow, Vicki, I didn't know this! What valuable information!
This bowl is 10 1/2 inches in diameter and the holly sections have 19 berries. I have no way to test the fluorescence.
