I Antique Online

A Community For People Who Buy, Sell or Collect Antiques, Collectibles and Art

Hello everyone.  My wifes mother accumulated a small mountain of Denby dinnerware.  Dinner sets, special items, etc.  My wife has inherited them and they sit in my garage - have been there for a couple years.  Really is a small mountain, taking up about 25% of a standard 2 car garage.

My wife is convinced they all have great value.   But some basic research online shows moderate value at best - and really for only very specific pieces.  There main value seems on eBay and only to replace a piece in a set that someone breaks and wants to replace.

I checked TIAS China and Dinner ware groups and Denby isn't even one of the many collectible choices they show (http://www.tias.com/china-and-dinnerware/) -not sure if that an indication of conductibility.

Anyway, I really need to get these out of my garage (smile) but need to do so gently and with good data and plan of action.  I think the emotional attachment to her moms collection is way greater than the actual value.  But in the garage they are taking some hits and they are very much in the way.  Any thoughts?
