I Antique Online

A Community For People Who Buy, Sell or Collect Antiques, Collectibles and Art

Whenever friends come to our home and go into the jar room, they always ask what my favorite jar is? That's a hard question to answer, because there are different aspects of each jar that caused me to buy them for the collection. But if I could only choose one to keep, it would have to be my Hull Little Red Riding Hood with the red overspray on her skirt.

What's funny about this choice is that when we first started collecting, I proclaimed the Little Red Riding Hoods to be too girlie, too foofy, too china doll for me. Then I saw my first one in an antique store. I was hooked and now I own two, plus one set of salt and pepper shakers.

That's the thing about only seeing cookie jars in the books. The pictures just don't capture their real magic until you see them in person.

That really is a beautiful jar. I've said before that if I knew then what I know now - I would have put my resources into developing a Little Red Riding Hood collection, along with my advertising jars. And forgotten about all the rest.
She is very nice. Great condition.

Hi ~ I have this exact cookie Jar! Plus I have the biscuit jar, salt and pepper, and some other piece, a sugar? I would really appreciate knowing what they are valued for now. I inherited them from my mom in 2001; she really loved them. Thanks you so much! Janet
lol how about all of them!!
LOL Yep, tough choice between them. I only have around 6 or so, but I love them all! They probably are not in the "collectible" category, but to me they are! Ahh I wish I had pictures of them, or at least the ability to describe them to you, but Alas, I don't!
