A Note from Your Moderator Barbara E, Mauzy

Calling all lovers and collectors of vintage glassware: join our PYREX discussion, share your expertise, ask your questions, and post your pictures! As the author of the only PYREX book in print I will offer assistance and share my enthusiasm for this vintage glassware that goes from the freezer to the oven. Go green with vintage glass and have fun along the way! PYREX The Unauthorized Collectors’ Guide is in its fourth edition and I have networked for and am working on the fifth edition which will add PYREX Restaurantware. Don’t miss my other eighteen titles!

PYREX Shur-out ashtray. I actually talk about them in the new book, but don't have one pictured in the book. This was a transitional experiment for them. They added color on these ashtrays and on double-tough tumblers and bingo, it worked, and the rest is history. This is an amazing piece and I guess at some point I will have to coerce you into the studio. Pictures here just aren't able to work in books. Great piece!!!

Here is the rest of the stamping. Any help, as always, is appreciated. Thank you!

Barbara and group,
Any idea on this piece I just bought on EBAY?
Do you think this qualifies as Red Decorated? The color looks a little iffy to me? The glass looks red decorated. So does that mean it would be made in 1936-1937?

Awesome! I found what may be another one , this weekend in PA while on vacation. I'm waiting on it to be shipped. I can take better pictures of this if you would like.

Andrew ~ thanks for reposting this pix so I could clarify the description. This is one of three interesting new finds I have mentioned in the next edition, which will be a completely DIFFERENT book.

I wish I had more unknowns.

All Call~ if you have a decoration, pattern, piece that is unlisted, please let me know! The best thing, simply load a pix here and I can take a look. Thanks ~ Barbara

It's from 1961 it was a Christmas Promo- it should have a blue 1.5 qt divided dish also.

Very exciting indeed! I love a mystery, that's for sure! I'm also looking forward to the new book Ms. Barbara! I'm certain it will be a great success!
