Oh my gosh i have a large salt and pepper shaker collection. I have a lot of black americana, advertising, cartoon and various vintage sets. I pick them up off ebay or at auctions, estate sales, yard sales etc. I occasionally will put some up for auction on ebay when my collection gets out of control and i'm running out of space for them.

My newest acquisition. I love them and paid more for them than I have ever paid for salt and pepper shakers, to my wife's chagrin. They are approx 3 1/2" tall and the feet screw off so they can be…Continue

The fortune teller is marked CA, no marks on the snails, the cats have ©FF 1985 and the dogs next to the fish are marked MADE IN JAPAN. The heads on this set are the actual shakers, the bodies are hollow and the tongue on the larger one is actually the handle of a small spoon. I liked the donut in the cup of coffee.

I like them Lillian! I especially like the snails and the "Fortune teller" any markings?

They may not be very old, but those two I'm pretty sure will be very collectible. I was wondering the age of the cats too - are they the newer one's or MIJ? Looks very much like "Bonzo" very popular in the 1930's. ??

Jolly Grannies - this set I remember my parents bought for my maternal grandmother in the late 1950s when we vacationed in Letchworth State Park in New York State.  The well-worn tag is visible on the back of one. She called them her Merry Widows.  When her house was being cleaned out, I made sure to retrieve them.

I have been trying to find out something about these shakers for a while now.  I believe they are fairly old.  Purchased them at an estate sale. Hopefully someone could give me some info on them. Age, value.
