Oh my gosh i have a large salt and pepper shaker collection. I have a lot of black americana, advertising, cartoon and various vintage sets. I pick them up off ebay or at auctions, estate sales, yard sales etc. I occasionally will put some up for auction on ebay when my collection gets out of control and i'm running out of space for them.
I found these in the attic some time ago..... they have 'Made in England' on the bottom... my photo shows one front view and one back view - does anyone know who made these - or was there an 'era'…Continue

Comment by lundy'antiques/collectables on March 25, 2012 at 8:43pm Jolly Grannies - this set I remember my parents bought for my maternal grandmother in the late 1950s when we vacationed in Letchworth State Park in New York State. The well-worn tag is visible on the back of one. She called them her Merry Widows. When her house was being cleaned out, I made sure to retrieve them.

This particular set has a footed glass bottom. The glass is kind of wavy like an old window pane and in excellent condition. I believe the tops are silver or silver plate.
