Hi, I was wondering if anyone can help me with the mark on this pot. It does say Staffoshire England, under a crown, but it also has a x engraved in it on the side. I did look it up and came up with similar pots, but none with the X. Is this a makers mark, to let us know who crafted it? Or what is it's significance? It is beautiful to look at it, and the color is just amazing. I believe by what I researched that it was made in the 50's , but I could be wrong on that. Any help would be appreciated and I hope I am at the right site for this. I am new as far as glass and pottery and ceramics ect goes, so hopefully this is china.? Does have a chip on lip.

Hi Isabel! Yes, you are in the right place. Hopefully, others will give their comments from experience.
The photo image is rather blurry of the mark and I'm not sure about the 'x' that is on yours. But, there are several good websites that show Crown Staffordshire Porcelain marks. The Potteries is one. And here's an article on Antique Marks that talks about Staffordshire Porcelain. You may have already researched these sites. Hopefully, we'll add a little info with yours.
Your tea pot is absolutely beautiful, by the way!
Thank you Ellene, I did do some research , but I am very new and in to everything. So I am learning at a slow rate, but I love the research.
