I absolutely love architectural salvage. We have a store here, and I could spend all day there. I bought old glass door knobs and mounted them on a board for a coat rack. I have seen old iron grates made into end tables.

Thanks for the invite. I remember a couple of years ago, our son & daughter-in-law made us enlarged photos of them and the still little grandchildren-3.
She took a very old heavy window pane with thick window glass. She painted & decorated the frame, and put a picture inside each window panel.
It was amazing! It was also way too heavy to hang or put on any table except
the dining room table. It took days before we found a place for it.
It was creative and heavy! yourbounty

Hi. I'm so happy to be a part this group because it will better enable me to place items of minor art with the proper major art structures.
Two day ago, I aquired a volume hand signed by A.A. Babcock. It was written in
1878.
It is called "ARCHITECTURE" for General Students. I show different architure application and names them.
This book will be a great source of information and pictures that will aid this group on questions that may come out in our discussions.
there is an original etching or print in the cover of this volume of the Pantheon at Rome. it has a thing sheet of protective paper cover next to it.
entered acording to Act of Congress, in the year1874 by Carikube W. Horton, INthe office of the Libarian of congress, at Washingtom.
printed by R.O. Houghton and Company

To: former Pupils, graduates of Gannet Institute
inscribed by The Author.
I will post pictures of the volume in the section covering antiques paper, book, etc.

I just have to add that living in AZ I have a very hard time finding salvage. If anyone else is from here I would appreciate knowing where to go to find the good stuff. thanks, Char

I have a serious problem throwing anything old out. I have to find a means to recycle everything. Here I used an old cabinet door with gorgeous antique hardware for canvas and painted something for the upcoming holiday! Rita @ www.TesoroFino.com
