I Antique Online

A Community For People Who Buy, Sell or Collect Antiques, Collectibles and Art

Hello,

I originally posted this in the Identification and Evaluation Discussion Group, however i was recommended to also post this in here as well due to the high level of expertise in this group.

I would appreciate help identifying the origin of the elephant seen in the photos. My in-laws purchased it approximately 30 years ago in a small town in southern Ontario, Canada. They do not know its origins.

It is approximately 7 inches tall, 8 inches long, and 4 inches wide. It does not appear to have any writing on it. I has been damaged and repaired (prior to my in-laws obtaining it). It could be from the top of something larger (feet may be broken off of something?).

Tomsantiques etcetera identified that it is likely SE Asian, an asian elephant and used for incense (box on top is open). Any additional information would be much appreciated!
