It's been years since I visited the website but thought I'd get back involved since we've now got a new hobby, collecting Aladdin Lamps. Though we've only gotten one so far we want to get more. Here's the first one. It's an Aladdin Model 9 that has been electrified. The shade is not original and is a tad small for the bracket. What I'm looking for is a replacement socket that is made for Aladdin lamps. The one that's in there is too high. Here are a few photos of the lamp. It has a chimney etched with the Aladdin name and logo. Any help in finding a correct lamp socket would be appreciated.

Recently purchased this floor lamp. The switch on the cable has Argentina Republic imprinted on the back. Anybody have any idea on age or manufacturer.

Thanks

I am restoring a Crouse Hinds industrial light fixture.  And have no idea what Im doing ;^)  Need to find out places I can find:

  • Correct socket
  • Replacement cork gasket
  • Original bulb type that may have been in it

Any starting point help appreciated!

I think you are right about the box being a part of the lamp, but my knowledge of 1920's electrical parts is limited, so I still have hope.

I can have a box welded, but I'd like to find something original first.  Any one know of catalogs of electrical parts?

dan, the cast metal box prob came from the manf of the light fixture, not an electrical supply item, prob some one left that pc on the building they came off of or has lost it some where. I think i would cobble together some thing to support that light arm but you would have to worry about moisture getting into the wires

Recently bought 2 old (1920's Holophane  exterior building light fixtures. They are cast, with an acorn shade, and the Holophane globe hanging below. The pictures attached do not show the globe.  I am missing the mounting electrical junction box for one of them. This is needed to attach the lamp arm to the wall, and to make the electrical connection. Don't even know if I'm calling this box by the correct name.  Can anyone tell me what the mounting box is called so I can search for it? Or, does anyone have one or know of a source for these?   The box is heavy cast metal .

Thanks

Dan
