? what makes you say 1849 as the year made?
The man who sold it to me said it was from 1849. It had been in his family. He said it had crossed the Atlantic ocean on two different trips as his family arrived in U.S. That's all I had to go on.
the reason I ask is the lady on the inside lid looked a little later as well as well as the end handles looked a little more modern
