I picked up a beautiful unmarked brooch.  It looks almost like an organizational type also look s like it could have been used as a pendant at one time.  It has what looks like an X in the middle with an arrow at the top and on each side looks like an upside down tulip.  The back has a very odd looking pin with lock (??).  We have tested for gold and believe it to be maybe 12K not sure though I guess it could be a very think gold plating.  I was hoping someone might know something about it.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you, Cathy

Late Victorian British probably gilt, hard to tell from pic, mass produced and not worth much, $10.

I don't know much about this stuff .. But I've learned if it is other than 10, 14,18,or 24 K is usually European. English especially... It looks kind of like a scottish thistle.
