I Antique Online

A Community For People Who Buy, Sell or Collect Antiques, Collectibles and Art

Hi,

I recently bought a very small diamond encrusted (Rubied eyed) silver & gold piggy charm/pendant (Maybe too small to be a pendant!) which I will be able to easily sell on for a good profit... however I was wondering if converting it into a stickpin would make it a little more commercial, or would converting it detract from the value?

Thoughts anyone?

Altering anything, especially jewelry, will de-value it.
Stick pins do not sell and are an out-dated item so I would just sell it as the charm/pendant it was intended to be.  You have 2 potential markets to sell to...folks who are looking for genuine gold charms and folks who are looking for anything piggy related :)

Hi Denise,
Kinda thought that but had to ask... Many thanks

You're very welcome...good luck :)
