This is my mothers Christmas doll....she was a Christmas present that arrived on Christmas day in the post in the 1930's, this was the second bisque doll she had the first she dropped and smashed to pieces the day she had her and she had to wait a whole year to get this replacement. I have restored her to her former glory after I mistreated her when I was a child and allowed to play with her. She is by Armand Marseille and 996 A9M Made in Germany is marked on the back of her head. Also pictured is my mother with the doll.
THat is priceless! Love your Mom's cute pic and love your special doll to! Sadly, my Mom had an American or German Composition doll from about the same time. She to, let me play with it, and she was already in poor condition with her face all crazed up and so forth.
I always wanted to get her fixed, but never got round to it, then we had a house fire and I lost the doll along with it, for ever. :(
Good on you, that you did the right thing and preserved your special doll now. :)
