Just trying to find out anything about the markings on either side of the date on the bottom of this candlestick.   Does anyone recognize either of them?  I have tried removing the spots in the one marking, to no avail.   I have had one person suggest it is a vase made to look like a candlestick.   I would appreciate any input.

That's an MPM art pottery piece. Dutch in origin. Dunno about the other artist mark at all as there isn't a lot of info in that regard. They are pretty common and show up on Ebay at around $15 USD.

You should be able to get farther in research now starting from there.

Thanks very much for replying.   I thought it was very pretty.

Definitely pretty. I didn't mean to sound like I was diminishing anything about it in my reply. I just tried to sum up what is usually the most pertinent points people are concerned with to give you a good starting point for further research.

Cheers,
