Hello All,
My apologies for not interacting or posting since, OMG!, could it be?, July????? Where has the time gone and where the heck have I been, you might be asking.
I've spent the last 3 months in NYC, working on a movie. A very difficult one and one that has me scurrying back to PA with the thought that my movie career, as it is now, is at an end.
I have decided to go back to my antiquing and put my collection, that has been hidden away for so long, into the public eye. By this I mean that I have begun the process of renting space in 2 antique malls - one called The Mill Property, in Morgantown, PA and one called Days Of Olde, in Oceanville, NJ (near Smithville).
I certainly hope the world is ready for me, because I am ready for it! I can't wait to start decorating and displaying in my little part of the universe. This will give me an income (I hope!) without committing to a retail shop just yet.
Anyway, I just returned from Detroit, Michigan where I was working and took a day to troll around for what I could find. I was thinking I would find a few pieces that I could stow in my luggage or Fedex back home.
Instead, what happened is truly insane by some standards but pretty typical for me. I was taken to a shop stuffed to the gills with retro, vintage, kitsch galore. I was VIBRATING with joy! I wanted so much stuff that I had to give up my flight back to Philly, and drove all the way home in a rented van full of mid century, 70s, 50s in all categories. Herman Miller upholstered chairs. A huge boomerang coffee table. A while metal curved frame rattan hanging chair. Lamps, lamps, lamps! Bowls, California pottery! The chairs alone are worth what I spent to get it all home.
I will post some pics as I bring stuff over to my spaces in the next 2 weeks.
Happy Hunting!!
