Every season, some collectibles and antiques sell better than others. This summer, what are the "Hot Sellers". Tell us what your customers are asking for. Also what seems to be selling well.

Feed sacks (both bags and material).
Ironstone, white on white.
Coffee and medicine tins, must be very old.
Small furniture like desks, blanket chests, ladderback chairs.

O.K. my "bread and butter" are colorful retro tablecloths. This is what is paying my rent.......Dianne

I can't say any one area is "hot" for me. Vintage hats and various smalls. Did sell an etching too.

I'll check with the shop manager tomorrow for an overall. I know May was down in sales but the prior two months were up from last year.

I guess I should head toward the midwest. At auctions in eastern PA furniture is selling for more than local market value. Obviously people are taking it elsewhere to sell but (insert mysterious music here) where?

Vinyl records have made a huge comeback. rockabilly, 60s rock, punk, soul...

I went to a couple of yard sales this week and picked up a few, but it' not like it was last year.
At flea markets dealers say business is hot.

The trick of course is finding records in VG+ condition.

I am going to ask the question in a little bit different way...........what seems to "fly out" of your booth, shop, store and what seems to sit? For example...in some regions pink kitchenwares are hot sellers.....in New England...forget about it. When I was at Brimfield, International buyers were going ga ga over Pyrex.....while Pyrex does sell nicely at times in my shop...I can walk around my antique mall and see tons of it hanging around...so I hesitate to add Pyrex to my inventory. I have noted that small juice glasses have come down in price....I sold a lot of retro beverage sets this past year.

Well so much for my niche.....always interested in hearing about what others are finding in their area of interests.

Tins are my hot sellers, all year long. I sell old British and Continental tins--biscuit tins, toffee tins and mustard tins, among others. Here's an English mustard tin, Victorian circa 1890, that just sold in my Ruby Lane shop.

Depression glass is sitting on the shelves. What is selling seems to have no theme.

Hah, went to an auction tonight and there were some nice Fenton, Westmoreland, Smith, Imperial and other fancy schmancy glass going for much higher than normal, it was weird. I guess just the right people were there tonight, usually in the booths you're right, the depression glass (and antique yellowware pottery) just sits there looking pretty.

Jewelry, any kind of costume or vintage estate jewelry. We have several colleges in the area, so basic furniture for student dorm rooms or apartments is doing quite well too. And mid-century decor, wicker, shabby chic home decor. Nothing realy high end or fancy, just basic stuff.

I can truthfully say vintage jewelry is still one of the most popular categories as far as sales this year. Coming up a close second is vintage items featuring roses. Paris Apt shabby chic still appears to be a strong market. I also see a trend of collecting vintage clothing from the 1950's to 1980's era...sexy sells, so, the sexy bombshell style is still high in demand... to collect or wear.
