Hi, I'm trying to identify a buffet/desk/? That my mother owned. It's stamped Drexel in two places on the underside. I've looked at hundreds if not thousands of pictures of furniture and have never found anything even close. I'd appreciate any help.

Does the top have a drop leaf?  It looks layered...or like it folds over.  If it changes the shape or appearance, an additional picture may help with identification.

No, no shape changing. It's just how it looks in the picture and very solid. Thanks!

I keep thinking double desk, dual writing desk, antique "office" cubicles... There are some similar looks out there, but, as you said, NOTHING close to the unique shape and different materials used in yours.  Now, you have got me hooked!  :)

I have seen some options that looked similar to yours. But no one of them have the shape and materials as unique as you have. I don't think, you would be getting any new options with the same products that are used in your.

I contacted the Drexel research department. They looked at the photos and the item number. The email I got back said that many of their old records were lost over the years as their company moved and that they could not identify the piece. They said I should contact an antique dealer. I'm wondering if the company cannot identify their own piece, what an antique dealer can do. I've listed it on several forums like this and no one can come up with anything definitive. Thanks for any help!

Any new ideas? I still can't find anything that looks like this anywhere. Drexel is puzzled as well. As I said earlier, their early records were lost or destroyed but they have never had an inquiry about a piece like this.

This was one of the first items I came across when I joined the site.  I remember you saying you had poured through thousands of pictures and such, and I did the same.  It's always been in the back of my mind.  I just saw it again and thought I would post the picture for easier reference.  Unfortunately, I still have not located a match.

Thanks for trying!
