Paul Lefkovitz, one of our members on Advertising Collectibles Antiques and Vintage, inspired me to start this new discussion. He's building an old fashioned soda fountain in his basement including the best vintage 'soda fountain' vintage advertising!

I have a fabulous Old Fashioned Soda Fountain Pinterest Board! With other people's vintage advertising. :) This original butterscotch blast sundae looks pretty good to me!

So, what are the flavors on this old Dr Pepper Vintage Ad? Cherry, Butterscotch and...?
Hmmm. Lemon-lime?? :)
Maybe so, James. Was that a popular flavor back then? I would try it for sure! :)
Well dang, I thought you knew!! ;) Now I have to wait and see if I guessed correctly!! Hmmm...where's Tom when you need him??! :D
Haha...you thought this was a trivia question. Nope...just a photo of an old ad that had no description.
However, here's a link I found to more history than you ever wanted to know about ice cream from The Food Timeline. It does mention pistachio which I wondered if I could see a pistachio close to the bottom of the glass??
Mystery...:)
Now that's what I call a wealth of information about ice cream!!! Very fascinating. Reading those recipes from the 18th century gave me this thought: if we had to work that hard today to cook something, I don't think obesity would be as widespread (no pun intended--sorry, couldn't resist--BAD, I know--) as it is.
Wow, Ellene--that's great perception!! And I do believe you've 'cracked' the case (another bad one, I know)!! *Gotta* be pistachio :)
Dear "Pun" King...let's make an executive decision and say that it is indeed pistachio. Whew! That's settled. :)
Well, it's about time!! I've been sitting here waiting for the last 23 hours!! ;) :D
And another 23 hours goes by...Can you tell I generally get on here once a day?
