I Antique Online

A Community For People Who Buy, Sell or Collect Antiques, Collectibles and Art

I need info on any good websites to set up my online store to sell vintage and antique items on. I'm looking for one that isn't expensive. I'm using ecrater.com as it's free but I haven't sold a thing on there since i've been using that site which has been a few months. And of course i've used Ebay also.

I would appreciate any ideas. Thankyou!

Hello Dawn, A friend here recommended bonanzle to me and of course, there is also etsy. Since I have only been a member for a short time, I haven't sold anything - yet! Both these sites are free. Depending on what you are selling, in the current marketplace I have found business to be quite slow online. I have had much better luck at shows etc. Hang in there, it is only a matter of time before someone buys something!! Hope this helps a little, Sue

Hi, I would give Bonanzle a shot, listing is free, fee for selling is reasonable. A lot depends on what you have and how deeply involved you want to get.

But in the long run your best bet is your own website.

I've been selling handmade and vintage collectibles on etsy for a couple of years now and am happy there. They are inexpensive and I really enjoy the vintage etsy community. Very supportive and a lot of fun. Good luck with your search. I love your avatar.

Making sales & keeping profits in the coffers can be a challenge....for my business I am fazing out ebay and using bonanzle and soon etsy. Bonanzle is down right cheap, they've done a good job attracting sellers. I am looking for the buyers. My products are vintage and not handmade, so I am hoping the etsy can also be a great fit. One thing I have noticed both etsy & bonanzle are fun, dynamic marketplaces. They shine in the overcrowed online world. I think this is a plus. Also this site is a great place.

Hope my 2 cents worth helps,

Laura

Laura I have found and heard from other that vintage sells really well on etsy. Especially retro or industrial style vintage. Good luck to everyone!

Thank you for the heads up, I have been a little reluctant because Etsy seems to be known for the handcrafted, they do such a great job with that.

Hi,

I'm just a repeat of what's already here. I'm on etsy and began with Bonanzle about a month ago. Both ar every economical. I'm doing better on Etsy but have had 5 sales with Bonanzle since I began. I think in time these 2 will be a very nice blend for me. Etsy costs 20 cents per listing, you get 5 pics, there are no shop fees and the 20 cents gets you 4 month's time. The site also offers google base and analytics to all users.

Bonanzle is free to list with a very reasonable FVF. They do have 2 optional monthly plans that come with some additional perks.

I had an Etsy booth, matter of fact I need to pay my 80 cents in fees I owe,,,,,,,,,,,,what a huge fee to pay..LOL
I need to get back into the Etsy thing, but wasnt sure if that was the venue to sell my vintage stuff.

I like the ease and low cost of bonanzle but I tend to do better with non-vintage things there like books and magazines so far.

i just need to sell getting panicky after being laid off for so long

I am on Etsy...and I love it. I find the fee's reasonable and the Vintage Community supportive. The one thing anyone taking on Etsy Vintage needs to know is to learn how to promote yourself off of Etsy. I spend time doing that and it has paid off for me.

Hi,
I was just wondering, has anyone tried ebay and can you make more....sell faster on these other two sites?
Ebay cost a fortune.
Thanks,
Deb
