Need help with this pottery mark

Hi everybody;

 I picked up a pair of beautiful pottery pieces , and I've been wracking my brain--and Google--trying to indentify the mark...to no avail. It's a simple block "JL". The pottery has a Western look, but as I found it in a thrift store(Indianapolis), it could be from just about anywhere...!

Could you post a couple of photos of them, including the mark? Someone might be able to lead you in the right direction if they recognize the style or design.
