Need help.description of these Royal Doulton antique dishes (12)

I've got a link that should help you pinpoint manufacturer dates of this marking. Doulton, like Wedgwood have very good marking/dating system, thankfully!

But, I'm thinking your dishes are about 1930-1950. The bright colored Transferware printing on these was very popular at that time, if I'm remembering correctly, anyways! :)

this mark is truer, it has made in england under the lion

Thank you for website. Mark that appears to be the one , is attached here (with crown). still can't find another dish like this , and with that edging. someone I know is calling them mystical landscape plates. that don't come up in search either

Here again, I'm going on memory, but I think each of these "scenic" full color transferwares were put out in a number of different "Series" Each having a different name. In order to nail it down to exactly when these were issued, you'd need to have Replacements do a search for you, or possibly find a long time seller of only RD or only English China plates. That way you could get the exact name of this pattern. The Letter/Number on the back of your plate is probably a clue as to which series this is. Go to Replacements.com and do a search for RD with that number, and you might get lucky!

'Made in' is usually post WW2 but maybe Doulton was ahead of the curve.

Yes, a friend said the " l-36? Maybe 38 " impressed on back is mfg date

That's pretty close, right? Are you wanting to sell them? 

Just thinking that if you ID them as "RD 1920-1950, Full color Transferware Dinner plate(s)" you could simply put "unknown pattern or series?
