Can anyone tell me what I have here. It's a wooden box with dove-tailed corners, it measure 5 1/8" long by 3 1/2" in height. It looks to be some sort of relay. It's engraved "Ford" on the front of the box. At the end of the box there looks to be some sort of connectors. I've attached pictures below. Thank you and have a nice day.

Google this"Antique Ford Model T{Or A} Battery Coil"

I did I found this http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/antique-ford-model-t-battery-...
But I believe worthpoint charges to see any info. There has to be some free info online somewhere!! :)
Thank you very much for the information. At least I now know what I have.

That ford T coil has seen better days
part of the ignition system, would ramp up the spark was mounted as a set of 4 (1 for each plug) against the fire wall would get damp on occasions and would not work,

Thank you very much for the info. I agree with you this coil has seen better days. But it's still interesting to learn what I have.
Janis
Janis your item is from a Model T, not a Model A. The T was built from 1908 to 1927. The A came out in 1928.
