Editor Wants to Know What Print Newspapers, Magazines and Newsletters on Antiques, Collectibles and Art Do You Read? Tell Us About Your Resources

Can you help me out....I am collecting information on what magazines, newspapers, newsletters members of our community are reading about antiques, collectibles and art. Or if you are aware of print media in your area, what is out there. Please add your resources to forum. I will collect the information, organize it and create a group later to share with members. YOU CAN ALSO PROVIDE A LINK in your post if you wish. Much appreciation.

You can also share your opinions about the publications you post. Are they free, do you subscribe to them? are they in color? What do you like about them? What geographic areas do they cover?
What types of article do they have? Are they valuable to you and why? How often do they come out? And anything else we should know.

These are what I call Trade Journals. Shop talk and show information.
New England Journal of Antiques

The Journal of Antiques & Collectibles
These are basically decorating and lifestyle magazine that I read in an effort to keep abreast of what people are using and looking for in antiques.
Early American Life
Country Living
...and about 6 others that Ginny subscribes to which all have the word "country" in the title, who can keep track?

To the best of my knowledge there are only two newspapers that deal with REAL antiques. Antiques & The Arts Weekly, published by the Bee Publishing Co. Newtown CT and MAD-- The Maine Antiques Digest published in Waldoborough Maine. This does not include many magazines which are published on a regular basis. There is a whole other world out there which deals with collectables etc.

I read and advertise in the Antiques and the Arts Weekly, a must for anyone in New England. I also subscribe to Antique Week and the Antique Trader. I also advertise in and read the Journal of Antiques. If I could only read one publication a week, it the would be Antiques and the Art Weekly, know locally as the Bee. It's the best!

Hi Dianne, We get the Antique Weekly which covers 'coast to coast' and the 'Collector' (NY & Pa) which is a superb little paper. It gives upcoming shows, reviews past shows and seems more relevant & informative for both collectors & dealers.
