It looks like a silver certificate, but I've never seen it in a $2 denomination? Check ebay for silver certificates, maybe you'll get lucky. I also know that if they are in sequence - the numbers, they are worth more. Good Luck!

Scott, what is the date on the pictured $2 SC? On eBay, an 1896 sold for $350., blue seal, looks like yours.
Condition and grading by an approved appraiser could help sell the money. There are many 2 dollar bills, both silver certificates and notes. It was a common issuance. The USN paid their employees in $2. bills stateside in the 1950s-early 60s.
