A Community For People Who Buy, Sell or Collect Antiques, Collectibles and Art
Toy collectors fall in to two categories: Those who want mint in the box unplayed with toys and those who want cherished well used toys. Your toy would appeal to the latter, which I include my self in. If a toy is in mint condition, it means no one ever enjoyed it, or a tyrannical parent sucked all the fun out of play by caring more about the toy than the child who wanted to play with it.
I like the worn paint and muted colors. I would expect to see a toy like that in a mall or shop for $40-$50, in the southeast region. Just my opinion.
Thanks. I would prefer it to be in someones hands that would cherish it and not destroy it. My father gave it to me and my family are not the best to keep treasured things like this. I think I will try to get $50 for it to someone who would keep it. Thanks again. I have a music box (broken but my husband it trying to fix without damaging it). I'll take a picture of it also. It is a church that has a crank that does not work. It is about 15" high.
