Dianne and I have been asked to do a project at the Columbus, NJ Flea Market.
Any opinions from you that have been to it?
How is the traffic during the week?
Thanks in advance,

Scott

Yes, I used to go there all the time when I lived in a different part of the state. I hear there is an antique mall there now too.
On a sunny, warm weekend the place is loaded with dealers and shoppers. Be prepared to do allot of walking, there are allot of dealers both out under the sun and under open roofs.
There is also an Amish farmers market there but it is closed on Sunday.

It's packed on thursday too. good business, but a lot of cheap dealers on thursday. If your going to sell get there very early to get in the maze of lines to get a space. driving through the cars when getting to your space is tricky. There was about 1' on either side of my truck. It's very tight.
I was there today ( Thurs). It was great for buying .We got there at about 8:00. The lot was about half full. By the time we left at 12 it was totally full. Because we go there all of the time I can tell you that Thursdays are dealers days. Lots of fair priced items from jewelry to cookware to whatever. On Sundays (especially ) in the summer there are many many day traders with tons of bargains to be had. There were at least 700 dealers out today in the old section and 500 + in the new area.
The cost is 80 for a month of Thursdays and 90 for a month of Sundays. If you want to go for one day only I believe it is 20 for Thursday and 25 for Sunday. If you buy for a month they reserve a table for you until 8ish then that table is up for grabs. As a day trader you have to get in line by 5ish and then they let you pay and you can get on the field at 6.
There are lots of clean bathrooms and plenty of food to buy .
They pretty much seperate the old, used, vintage and antiques from the new stuff. If you plan to go it takes me about 3-4 hours to do the old stuff only. It's a whole day to do the entire flea market outside only. Inside is the regular sort of stuff that every indoor market has ( very little is old or used inside ).This flea market is mostly on asphalt so it is wheelchair assessible.Pets are not permitted.
